Google, often the antagonist of the newspaper industry, has recently began talks with the New York Times and the Post about a potential collaboration (source: Fortune and The Washington Post). Google obviously benefits from the content produced by the New York Times and others in the news industry--yet Google has been regarded more as a leech than a contributor to a symbiotic relationship. Such a collaboration could be an act of preservation to a troubled industry.
