Many online retailers and web designers may have experienced a problem with USPS's January 2nd release of their shipping API. Ecommerce systems from open source to custom had problems with garbage code being sent back from USPS via their shipping API. Specifically, the tool was sending back double encoded HTML, which caused problems with websites operating everything from frameworks like Drupal to paid solutions like Pinnacle Cart. Many shopping carts were able to complete shipping orders, but the names of USPS and trademarks were garbled.
