Twitter has recently rolled out enhanced brand pages that borrow from Facebook in concept. The new functionality gives companies the ability to appropriately customize and highlight content. Among the first the use the tool were HP, Intel, Coca Cola, Dell, Disney, JetBlue, Nike and Paramount Pictures. In total 21 brands were invited to test drive the new brands platform. Next Twitter will expand the tool to advertising partners, as well as select charities, media organizations and individuals.
The enhanced profile pages will have access to uploading banners and promoting tweets at the top of their Twitter timelines. Brands may have to experiment and test to make the most of this new functionality.
