Medications now part of Google's search Knowledge Graph

Google's Knowledge Graph presents factual information to searchers in the right side column on it's traditional search results page.

Knowledge Graph within GoogleThe graph is designed to be immediately helpful to users curious about specific pieces of information. Information contained within the Knowledge Graph is available on desktop, tablet, and on smartphones within the search environment.

Recently, Google expanded it's Knowledge Graph with detailed information on medication.  Google selected sources of authority to power this search feature. Sources include National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, the US Food & Drug Administration, the Dept. of Veterans Affairs and others.

Google has been expanding it's search product with health-related search features over the years, including a health OneBox (2009), which may be replaced by the new medication-focused Knowledge Graph data.
