New SDK makes life easier for Android app developers by providing native UI controls

In mid Dec. of 2012, Facebook took their SDK 3.0 for Android out of beta, which means it  began to be fully supported, giving greater access and tools for Android and Native Login.

Facebook mobile app experience for design

The new Facebook SDK helps developers and app designers build social Android apps by giving native UI controls, simplifying session management, and improving API support--three valuable elements for building dynamic applications and innovation with third-parties.

Native Login and other UI controls

  • Native Facebook Login lets people authorize permissions without leaving your app. This feature helps guide faster and more seamless login experiences for app users.
  • Friend Picker lets people tag friends in an Open Graph action or find other people who installed your app, which expands the potential interactivity and success of apps.
  • Places Picker gives close-by places and offers customizable locations.
  • Profile Picture control displays the profile picture for any Facebook object. This feature includes people, places and things.

This expanded tool-kit helps Facebook users gain a consistent experience by giving app developers access to common features.
