Android search add updated for 13.6 percent of users

Google updated it's search app for Android for versions 4.1 (Jelly Bean) or higher, which affect 13.6 percent of users.

Google Now - mobile searchThe changes were modest with the exception of a few spotlight enhancements with Google Now content and functionality. Google Now, going-forward, includes movie ratings from Rotten Tomatoes and movie passes from Fandango. Also, real-estate listings were also introduced from Zillow, expanding the Android search application and helping to build relevance for users and mobile search.

Google Now acts as “persistent” or “predictive” search now. Mobile introduces contextual questions which alter search and search intent. Google Now tries to improve search by understanding the context of the question and providing predictive results. For example, if a user is traveling their search intent will be different from a user at home. Google Now is Android's answer to the iPhone's Siri and Passbook, but it seems to be gaining ground due to it's increasing search capabilities.
