Social Media and Shopify: Facebook Is Biggest Driver

In 2013, Shopify released a report that highlighted the company enjoyed significant growth, with nearly 1.7 billion dollars in sales in over 121 companies. What's more, if you live in the US and are an adult with purchasing power, chances are 1 in 9 that you've bought something from a Shopify store. But how are you most likely to get to a Shopify store? According to a report that the company released yesterday, Facebook is where it's at. In fact, FB drives nearly 63% of  all social media traffic and accounts for nearly 85% of orders and it also has the highest conversion rate at 1.85%.

Additionally, Polyvore was a player with orders coming from there having the highest average cart value at almost $67; comparatively Facebook was $55 and Reddit $52, with Youtube generating the least at around $38 but video showing a steady conversion rate of 1.16%.

And finally, they caution against launching a product on the weekend with data showing a 10-15% drop off on Saturday and Sunday. So we might assume that folks are shopping a bit more during the work day...on their lunch break of course.
