Adults Spend Two Hours Daily on Mobile Web [study]

New numbers from GlobalWebIndex report that around the world adults spend an average of 1.98 hours per day on the mobile Web.

The report utilized data from 1Q14 and 2Q14, which polled internet users, aged 16-64, around the world. Not surprisingly, the usage of mobile devices to peruse the web have increase dramatically since 2012 – surveys back then stated that adult spend an average of 1.31 hours per day on the mobile web.

Below are some of the most significant stats:

  • 94 percent of those aged 16-64 said they used mobile internet daily
  • 45 percent of those aged 16-64 used mobile internet for two or more hours a day
  • 51 percent of those aged 55-64 say they used mobile internet daily
  • 49 percent of those aged 55-64 said they do not use mobile internet daily
  • Less than 10 percent of those aged 55-64 use mobile internet for two or more hours a day
  • 38 percent of those aged 25-34 say they use mobile internet for two or more hours a day

Stats differ from country to country as well. For example, in China and Hong Kong, roughly all adults surveyed said they used mobile internet daily. Conversely, in places like France and Japan, only about 60 percent of adults use their mobile internet on a daily basis.
