The past few years have ushered in dramatic changes to markets, industries, culture, and work. Post-COVID-19, considerable shifts in digital transformation have required companies to rethink and reshape their service offerings, marketing, technology, and operations. Amidst these shifts and a tumultuous financial climate, life has shifted for these companies’ employees. 


Business needs continuously change due to market forces, technological advances, supply chain challenges, increasing complexity, M&A, and regulations. These changes require managers to be adaptable, flexible, and ready to handle new challenges as companies transform to remain competitive and achieve growth.


Managers must lead employees in a way that resonates, inspires, and guides them through professional and personal changes. Culture and ESG-related issues are now a top priority among job seekers. Some companies have returned to the office, while others have learned to adopt hybrid and remote work. Employees are expected to feel comfortable, productive, and present in various work environments and remain connected meaningfully.


There is an array of pressures among managers to prioritize both the needs of their company and their employees. Managing complex, B2B organizations is challenging for managers to embrace new operating methods and seek out value-driving processes. Successful managers recognize the need to continuously adapt and transform again and again to support their employees as culture, skills, systems, and organizations change.


It’s no surprise that these statistics are so closely tied together. Employees are the backbone of every organization. Managers must use agility to work across an organization to maximize and sustain performance amidst increasing uncertainty and complexity while empowering a diverse workforce.
