Essentials

  • Experience developing content strategies around complex ideas, with a proven ability to present those strategies effectively.

Sound like you?

Overview of the role:

You’re a seasoned B2B writer with experience covering industries like energy, software, petrochemicals, manufacturing, cybersecurity, nonprofits, and financial services. Complex topics don’t intimidate you—you know how to dig into research, connect the dots, and turn it into content that informs and inspires.

Strategy is your sweet spot. You build content plans for B2B marketing campaigns by talking to subject matter experts, conducting independent research, and finding insights within campaign performance data. Buyer needs change fast, and you’re quick to pick up, adapt, and deliver content that resonates.

For you, content strategy isn’t just an editorial calendar. It’s about using a methodology to create a clear, flexible vision that can work for clients with different budgets, priorities, and pressures.

You thrive in remote roles. You show up on Zoom to collaborate with emotional intelligence, tackle problems head-on, and respond with urgency.

You’re adaptable, self-motivated, and at your best in a team-oriented, feedback-driven environment. You help others grow while taking every opportunity to sharpen your own skills. Most importantly, you’re driven by curiosity and a hunger to keep learning, constantly seeking new ways to improve your craft in marketing and content strategy.

The day-to-day:

  • Lead content strategy for your accounts by recommending the right mix of topics, formats, messaging, and tactics that drive results, along with test strategies to optimize performance.
  • Pitch fresh, innovative content ideas backed by data and insights.
  • Develop strategies that address buyer pain points, highlight value, and reflect market trends—then track performance and refine as needed.
  • Analyze trends in industries like energy, retail, and petrochemicals, applying that expertise to create timely, valuable content.
  • Write, edit, and manage content for every stage of the buyer’s journey, from ad copy and landing pages to thought leadership articles, email nurtures, and social posts. This may include keyword research, SME interviews, desk research, and using AI tools when it makes sense.
  • Ensure all content aligns with established brand voice, tone, and legal standards.
  • Build strong client relationships through clear, thoughtful communication.
  • Manage and mentor 1–2 Content Specialists while leading a peer content group.
  • Stay engaged through internal meetings, client syncs, and Ironpaper training sessions.

Join our team.

Additional skills:

  • Experience in a marketing agency or enterprise-scale content marketing is a big plus.
  • A conceptual thinker who connects content to broader marketing and business goals, with a solid grasp of inbound marketing principles.
  • Comfortable using technology and AI for research, content creation, and data-driven strategies.
  • Must be U.S.-based and available to work 9 AM–6 PM EST.
  • Skilled at working remotely, leading productive Zoom meetings, and engaging clients and colleagues digitally.
  • Kind, driven, and passionate about creating great work.
  • Proficient with MacBooks and Google Suite. Bonus points for HubSpot experience.

We need a teammate who is self-motivated, obsessed with learning and inherently kind.

The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is imperative in order to convey inspiring stories and impactful insights to both team members and clients.
